Getting to Aotearoa

Air New Zealand is the national airline carrier of Aotearoa, flying directly to Auckland daily from most overseas ports. To assist attendees of The Seventh Gathering Air New Zealand are offering a 10% discount off all Air New Zealand flights (Premium, Business Economy or Premium Economy) to New Zealand. Attendees must be registered for the Gathering to access this offer and a promotion code will be provided in the confirmation letter received after the registration process is complete.

Auckland to Hamilton

Drive time between Auckland International Airport and Hamilton is one and a half hours.

Coach transport between Auckland International Airport and Hamilton can be booked during the online registration process for a cost of $20 NZD each way (opening 1 May 2015).

Coaches will depart Auckland on the following dates and times*:
Friday 13 November 9.00am 3.00pm 7.00pm
Saturday 14 November 9.00am 3.00pm 7.00pm
Sunday 15 November 9.00am 3.00pm 7.00pm

 

Coaches will depart Hamilton for Auckland on the following dates / times*: 
Friday 20 November  10.00am
Saturday 21 November 10.00am

 

Coaches will also be provided from Hamiton airport to the Gathering Accommodation providers and central Hamilton for those flying directly into Hamilton on the following dates / times*:
Friday 13 November 9.00am 11.00am 1.00pm 3.00pm 5.00pm 8.30pm
Saturday 14 November 9.00am 11.00am 1.00pm 3.00pm 5.00pm 8.30pm
Sunday 15 November 9.00am 11.00am 1.00pm 3.00pm 5.00pm 8.30pm

Customs Information

New Zealand has very strict biosecurity procedures at airports and ports to prevent the introduction of pests and diseases. Please take a moment to read the information provide in the links below to ensure you clearly understand what can be brought in to New Zealand and what must be declared. This will save you time on arrival and ensure special items are not confiscated.

Prohibited items  - take special note of agricultural items and food and chewing tobacco information.

Items to declare - take special note of animal products.

Traditional costumes or apparatus may need to be treated before arrival in New Zealand and declared on arrival into New Zealand (ie head pieces; mitre). Should you have any items that you are unsure on please contact customs directly before your departure to ensure your entry into New Zealand is stress free.
