The Seventh Gathering is taking place in New Zealand (Aotearoa) in Hamilton (Kirikiriroa) which is 1.5 hours drive south of Auckland International Airport.  The main venue for the Gathering programme between 16 and 19 November is Claudelands, which is situated in Hamilton (Kirikiriroa).

Due to event logistics, large attendee numbers and maybe a little bit about the unpredictable Waikato weather, the Gathering will now be held at Claudelands Conference and Exhibition Centre in Hamilton, Aotearoa New Zealand.

We thank the University of Waikato for their energy planning to host the Gathering at their campus and also acknowledge their commitment in helping us bring the Gathering to Kirikiriroa Hamilton.

The Claudelands site was originally inhabited by Ngāti Wairere on an area renowned as native bird hunting ground known as ‘Te Papanui’ (a bird snarer’s seat). Read more about its history and unique cultural and ecological nature at www.claudelands.co.nz.

The Pōwhiri (Official Welcome) will take place on 15 November at 10:00am on Tūrangawaewae Marae which is the principal marae of the Māori Kīngitanga.  The Marae is at Ngāruawāhia, a small township 20 kilometres north west of Hamilton.
